Cookie Policy
lebamap.com sets no cookies. Not one, not even a functional one. It keeps one mark in your browser's local storage for its visitor count, and one more only if you enter the preview password, both described below. That is why there is no consent banner in your way.
What we store, and why
One item in local storage, va.counted, holding the value 1. It is written once this site has counted your browser in its daily visitor count, so the same browser is not counted again. It holds no identifier, is never sent anywhere, and no other website can read it.
While the site is being built, the home page sits behind a preview password. If you are given it and enter it, a second item, lebamap:preview-unlocked, holding 1, keeps the preview open in this browser so you are not asked again. It is written only when you enter the password, holds no identifier and is never sent anywhere.
The site uses no cookies, no session storage and no IndexedDB. You can confirm this in your browser's developer tools on any page.
Why there is no consent banner
Consent banners exist for advertising and cross-site tracking. This site has neither. The marks it keeps identify nobody: one only stops the site from counting the same browser twice, the other only remembers a preview password you chose to enter, so a banner would add a click and nothing else. If that ever changes, a banner will appear before the thing it asks about, with a refusal that takes one click.
Analytics from our host
Page views are also counted by Cloudflare Web Analytics, run by the network that delivers this site. It reports how many times a page was opened, the country a visit came from, the referring site and how fast the page loaded. It sets no cookie, stores nothing in your browser and uses no fingerprint, so it cannot tell a returning visitor from a new one or follow anyone to another website.
Third parties
Apart from that count, there are none. No video players, social widgets, map embeds or web fonts from another company. Every other file is served from this site, and the page's security policy refuses anything else.
What your browser keeps by itself
- Its cache: copies of the pages, the stylesheet and the two typefaces, so a second visit is faster.
- Its own settings, such as zoom and reduced motion. The site reads the reduced motion setting and stores nothing.
Turning it off
Switch on Do Not Track and the site's own visitor count never runs. Any content blocker stops the page view count from our host. To remove the mark, clear this site's data in your browser; your next visit is then counted once more.
